To be eligible for this Limited Warranty, the products must be purchased only from an authorised JVC dealer in Australia or New Zealand.

A. Subject to the following conditions:

The two (2) year extended warranty, which begins at the conclusion of the first year Limited Warranty, applies only to the GY-HM100E and GY-HM700 series camcorders. To be eligible, you must register online within 30 days of the purchase date, by visiting http://www.jvcpro.com.au/, and selecting “Product Registration” from the panel on the left side of the page. After successful registration, you will receive confirmation via an email which will include your “Registration Notice”.

Hagemeyer Brands Australia Pty Ltd (hereinafter called Hagemeyer), as the exclusive distributor of JVC Professional Products in Australia and New Zealand, undertake to carry out any necessary repairs without charge for parts or labour during the period specified herein, commencing from the date of purchase. Such repairs will be carried out within the normal operating hours of any Authorised Service Centre. The warranties conferred by Hagemeyer are in addition to all other rights available to the consumer under any applicable statute.

The maximum warranty repair period of three (3) years may be adjusted, and will depend on the number of hours that the device has been in use.

GY-HM700 series: 3 years or 6,000 hours of operation, whichever comes first.

GY-HM100E series: 3 years or 3,000 hours of operation, whichever comes first.

B. Statement of Warranty Conditions

1. The warranty is valid for JVC products imported and distributed by Hagemeyer, and purchased in Australia or New Zealand from a dealer authorised by Hagemeyer to sell the JVC product, provided that the product:-

Has been used and installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions contained in the operation manual.

Has not been damaged by an accident, or subjected to misuse, abuse, alteration, modification, impact, neglect, tampering, negligence, faulty installation, lack of reasonable care, ingress of liquids, build-up of dirt or dust, maladjustment of customer controls, or by any foreign object or matter having entered the product, including infestation by insects or vermin.

Has not been damaged by any malfunction or failure resulting from the use of incorrect voltages, or by mains supply problems (voltage and/or frequency), thunderstorm activity, repair by unauthorised persons (including unauthorised modifications), failure or damage by use of non genuine parts, unauthorised maintenance or exposure to abnormally corrosive conditions.

Has not been damaged during shipment or by an act of God.

Has not been tampered with, or repaired by anyone other than an authorised Hagemeyer service centre in Australia or New Zealand.

Has not been affixed to any attachment not provided or approved by the manufacturer.

Has not had any alteration, deletion, tampering, obscuring or removal of the model or serial number.

Is taken or sent for service to an authorised Hagemeyer service centre in Australia or New Zealand, accompanied by the original purchase document(s).

2. Subject to the conditions of this warranty, JVC (Hagemeyer Brands Australia) or one of its Authorised Service Centres will perform the necessary service on the product without charge for parts or labour, if in the opinion of JVC or its Authorised Service Centre, the product is found to be defective by reason of faulty workmanship or materials. Components that are subject to wear and tear, and which are not faulty from manufacture, but must be replaced for optimum performance, shall be replaced at the expense of the owner for parts and labour. The CCD block and in the case of the GY-HM100 series, the integrated lens is only eligible for 1 year warranty. The detachable lenses are warranted separately, by their manufacturers.

3. If a unit is sent to a Hagemeyer authorised service centre for repair under warranty, the owner is responsible for transportation and insurance costs to and from the service centre, as well as the cost of removal and re-installation of the equipment, if applicable.

4. Where service inspection reveals that the unit is in good order and working condition, and that the alleged fault is caused by incorrect operation or user controls, outside interference, mains problems or flat batteries resulting in “no fault found”, and where the perceived problem is explained within the Operating Instructions, or the Troubleshooting Section of the Operating Instructions, the owner shall be liable for the minimum service fee charged by the Hagemeyer authorised service centre.

5. Subject to any warranties implied by statute, at no time will Hagemeyer or its agents be liable for any economic loss resulting from the failure of the product.

6. Connecting cords, loose accessories, batteries, carrying cases and straps, cabinet parts, etc, are not covered for any manufacturing defects which have been specifically drawn to the customer’s attention before purchase, and where the customer has examined the goods before purchase, where those defects ought to have been revealed to the Customer upon examination.

7. Outer casing parts including handle, terminals, knobs, etc, as well as plastic and rubber parts that will deteriorate by aging are also excluded. Cosmetic damage is excluded.

8. This product is sold to the dealer and neither the dealer nor any other person has authority to give any warranty or guarantees on Hagemeyer’s behalf, either written or verbal.

9. Subject to any warranties implied by statute, Hagemeyer reserves the right to replace the product with the same or equivalent product, rather than have the product repaired. Where a replacement is provided, the original product, along with its accessories, becomes the property of Hagemeyer and the warranty will continue from the original purchase date. Hagemeyer’s total warranty repair commitment shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.

10. Hagemeyer shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect or consequential damages (including, without limitation, damage to SDHC or SxS cards) resulting from the use of these products, or arising out of any breach of the warranty.

11. THIS WARRANTY APPLIES TO THE ORIGINAL (RETAIL) PURCHASER ONLY AND IS NOT TRANSFERABLE.
